Project Description

National Trust Rhossili HY Catering Van Conversion

This vintage Citroen HY Van was a project Classic French Vans had to work with the local authorities for it to be complete correctly this is due to it being paced at a National Trust area in Rhossili Bay in North Wales. This was important to both Classic French Vans and the National Trust this converted coffee HY Van didn’t impair the stunning views of the bay. Therefore we had to ensure that this project would have the perfect appearance suitable to be placed at a place that is owned and protected by The National Trust.

This vintage Citroen HY Van was converted into a coffee van, this conversion began with fitting kitchen supplies and basic coffee supplies like the machines, however also including equipment that can be used to clean and tidy to ensure the health and safety is correct but also that hygiene standards can be maintained.

Working with Now Group to ensure the design was kept simple and basic to ensure the design did not abstract the views from Rhossili Bay or the Cathedral we used minimalistic design and the National Trust logo to add on to the mobile catering unit to add some branding and help people acknowledge that Rhossili Bay is a National Trust ground.

Doing both the interior and exterior design was a difficult job because there was so many strict requirements we had to meet and be so weary to not include too much detail. Using the neutral colour was a good decision due to the requirements although it was difficult to find a design that would fit but also still look appealing.

With brand new catering equipment fitted this mobile catering unit was ready for use up in Rhossili Bay. Classic French Vans provided all the catering equipment for this vehicle but also for every other catering unit they have completed for a customer.
